Event
The Malverne 5K Run for Education takes place on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The event is organized by the Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3). Net proceeds support youth programs within the Malverne school district.

Registration opens February 4, 2026. The 5K entry fee is $28.50 (includes a $3.50 fee) and is open to ages 1–99. The fun run entry fee is $13 (includes a $3 fee) and is open to ages 1–10. Packet pickup and day-of registration take place at Malverne High School.
Course and logistics
The 5K course begins at Wicks Lane next to the H.T. Herber Middle School gym (75 Ocean Ave) and winds through Malverne, Lynbrook, and Lakeview. The finish is located behind Malverne High School. The fun run for children 10 and under has its start at the intersection of Wicks Lane and N Cambridge Street; participants run on Wicks Lane toward the 5K start area at H.T. Herber school. Parking is available in the two high school parking lots and on adjacent streets; parking is not available on Wicks Lane or along the course.
Awards and categories
Fun run participants receive a finisher's medal. For the 5K, awards are given to the top three males and females overall. Age-group awards go to the top three males and females in 11 & under, 12–14, 15–19, and then five-year age bands up to age 84. Awards also include categories for physically challenged and wheelchair participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
