Malverne 5K Run for Education
This event is organized by the Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Net proceeds support youth programs in the Malverne school district.
Packet pickup and day-of-run registration start at 7:30 a.m. at Malverne High School, located east of Ocean Avenue.
The schedule includes two events:
- A Fun Run for children aged 10 and under, covering 200 meters. It starts at 8:30 at the intersection of Wicks Lane and N Cambridge Street.
- The main 5K Run/Walk starts at 9:00 on Wicks Lane next to the H.T. Herber Middle School gym. The 5K course winds through Malverne, Lynbrook, and Lakeview. The finish line is behind Malverne High School.
Parking is available at two high school parking lots and adjacent streets, but not on Wicks Lane or the course.
For the Fun Run, each participant receives a finisher's medal. For the 5K, awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in various age groups from 11 & under up to age 84, including Physically Challenged and Wheelchair categories.
