Event Overview
The Malverne 5K Run for Education is a community event organized by the Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF), a not-for-profit organization. Net proceeds from the event support youth programs within the Malverne school district.
Distances
- 5K Run/Walk: Open to ages 1-99.
- Fun Run: A 200-meter run for children aged 10 and under.
Event Details
The 5K Run/Walk starts at Wicks Lane next to the H.T. Herber Middle School gym. The course winds through the villages of Malverne, Lynbrook, and Lakeview. The finish line is behind Malverne High School. The Fun Run starts at the intersection of Wicks Lane and N Cambridge Street, with participants running along Wicks Lane toward the 5K start line.
Packet pickup and registration on the day of the event take place at Malverne High School. Parking is available at the two high school parking lots and adjacent streets, except for Wicks Lane. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Awards
- Fun Run: Each participant receives a finisher's medal.
- 5K Run: Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Age group awards cover categories from 11 & under to 84 years old, in five-year increments, for both males and females. There are also awards for Physically Challenged and Wheelchair participants.
