Makin’ Strides for Strays

The Makin’ Strides for Strays is a 5K walk/run event taking place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Aurora, Illinois. The event starts at the Parker Ave. & Ray Moses Dr. intersection near Mastodon Lake. The timed 5K course is around Mastodon Lake Trail.

Registration includes a t-shirt, a bandana for pets, and a swag bag. The event also features a family festival with music, vendors, contests, games, and other family-friendly activities. The festival begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 1:00 PM.

The event supports A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter, which has placed over 30,000 animals into homes since 1989. Awards are given to the top male and female finishers, and age group medals are awarded for participants from 9 & under to 70 & over.
