Makin' Strides for Strays
Makin' Strides for Strays is a dog friendly 5K walk and run and pet festival organized by A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter. The event takes place at Phillips Park Main Pavilion in Aurora, Illinois near Parker Ave and Ray Moses Dr, with a 5K course that circles Mastodon Lake.
The outdoor festival follows the 5K and includes vendors, music, dog contests, food, games, and activities aimed at families and people who bring pets. Festival admission is free; donations are accepted. Registration packages include a Strides t-shirt, an A.D.O.P.T. bandana for pets that attend, a swag bag, and festival admission while supplies last.
A virtual participation option is available for those who wish to walk or run remotely on the event date or to fundraise from elsewhere. Fundraising is tied to incentive items and experiences at multiple levels, including sticker and tote rewards at lower tiers, an adventure leash at a mid tier, and higher level items such as a notepad with an art experience and options like a pet photo session or a shelter enrichment experience for larger fundraising totals.
