Loxford Maitland Running Festival 7 June 2026
The event is held at the Maitland Regional Athletics Centre, located at the eastern end of High Street. The venue serves as the start, finish and lap point and provides amenities for runners and spectators.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon (new two-lap course, minimum age 16)
- 12 km
- 8 km
- 4 km
The 4 km loop begins on the track and follows a riverside route past local landmarks, returning to finish with the final 100 metres on the track. Runners complete one or more laps depending on distance. The Half Marathon uses the 4 km loop plus additional sections through Harold Gregson Park and Maitland Park before returning to the athletics centre.
Timing chips are integrated into race bibs and timing is managed by a professional provider with live online results. Drink stations are placed about 2 km into the course and at the finish; both water and electrolytes are supplied in standard cups. A secure, self-collect bag drop operates at the start/finish area. Qualified medical personnel will be on-site at the start, on course, and at the finish.
Children entry rules are age based and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers must start at the rear. There is no dedicated wheelchair category due to mixed and uneven surfaces; individual circumstances can be discussed with organisers.
All finishers receive a commemorative medal. A tiered refund policy applies with partial refunds available more than 14 days before the event and no refunds within 14 days of race day. Cut off times are set for each distance to support road reopening and participant safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
