Made in the Shade
The Made in the Shade event is an annual gathering held in Flowood, Mississippi. This year marks the sixth edition of the event, which takes place at 100 Winners Circle. The race follows a course along a paved multipurpose trail. Participants follow a simple down and back route through the local scenery.
The event offers two main categories for participants:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
All proceeds from the event support various service projects managed by the Rotary of Flowood. These initiatives include providing dictionaries for lower elementary students in the Rankin area and organizing food drives for the Pine Lake Church Care Center and Gateway Rescue Mission. Funds also support projects for The Seedsters at The Mustard Seed and programs at the YMCA of Flowood.
Individuals who complete their registration before July 1, 2026, are guaranteed an event shirt. Registration options include a family registration category. For those who register after the evening of July 16th, participant bibs will be available for pickup on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
