Course and logistics

The course uses single-track trail that runs north from the West Florida Boundary trailhead to the Highway 43 Trailhead and back for the 15.5 mile distance. The 15K uses a turnaround point along the same route. The trail is open to hikers and horseback riders; runners should expect horse hoof holes on the route. Two aid stations are located at mile 2.75 and mile 7.75 and will be stocked with water, Tailwind, fruit, and sweet/salty foods. This is a cupless event, so participants must carry a water bottle or hydration pack. Packet pickup is available at Buffalo Peak on the Friday before the race and at the start area on race day morning. Registration fees are $50, increasing to $60 on January 1; MUTS members receive a $5 discount with a member code. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each race. Proceeds benefit the Mississippi Ultra and Trail Society. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
