Frosty 15
Frosty 15 is an out-and-back trail race held on the Yockanookany section of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail in Madison, MS. The event offers two distance options:
- 15.5 miles
- 15K
The course follows single-track trail from the West Florida Boundary historic site at milepost 107.9 north toward the Highway 43 Trailhead and back for the longer distance. The 15K uses a turnaround point along the same route. The trail surface is often rugged and shared with hikers and horseback riders, so participants should expect uneven footing and occasional horse hoof holes.
The event is chip timed and has a 5 hour time limit. Entry is capped at 120 runners across both distances. Two aid stations are provided on course, stocked with water, Tailwind, fruit, and sweet and salty food; these are located near mile 2.75 and near mile 7.75 at the turnaround for the longer race. This is a cupless event, so runners must carry a water bottle or hydration pack.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Runners may change distances during the race and receive a result for the distance completed, but such changes make them ineligible for awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
