Event
Frosty 15 is an out-and-back trail race held on the Yockanookany section of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail in Madison County, Mississippi. The event offers two distances:
- 15.5 miles
- 15K
The race is chip timed and has a five hour time limit. The field is limited to 120 runners across both distances. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each race. Runners may switch between the 15.5 mile and 15K courses during the event and receive a result for the distance they finish, but they become ineligible for awards if they change.
Course and logistics
The course is primarily single-track trail that runs from the West Florida Boundary historic site on the Natchez Trace Parkway (milepost 107.9) north toward the Highway 43 Trailhead and back for the 15.5 mile distance. The 15K uses a turnaround point along the same trail. The trail is shared with hikers and horseback riders; participants should expect horse hoof "holes" in the tread.
There are two aid stations stocked with water, Tailwind, fruit, and sweet and salty foods located at about mile 2.75 and mile 7.75. This is a cupless event; participants must carry a water bottle or a hydration pack. Registration fees and refund policies apply as posted by the organizer.
