Maddie's Miles 5K Memorial Run/Walk
Maddie's Miles is an annual athletic event held to honor the memory of Madison "Maddie" Marini and to raise awareness for addiction recovery. The event takes place at Jamison Park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Participants follow an out-and-back course along the Muddy Creek Greenway.
The theme for this year's event is "Still in the Game," a tribute to sports and teamwork. The run serves as a community effort to support individuals struggling with addiction and to honor those lost to the crisis. Proceeds from the event are donated to Phoenix Rising of Winston Salem, Inc., a non-profit organization that supports local drug courts, as well as other local groups focused on overdose prevention.
The event features the following distances:
- 5 km running race
Special guests from Ruff Love Rescue will be on-site with adoptable dogs available to join participants on the course. In addition to the run, the event includes a variety of activities such as food, prizes, and auction items. Registration is $30.00 and is open from April through late September. Materials for the race are available for pickup at the park on the morning of the event. The race is scheduled to take place rain or shine.
