Maddie's Mark 5K
Maddie's Mark 5K is the fourteenth annual event scheduled for October 18, 2026, in Central Park Schenectady at 500 Iroquois Path, Schenectady, NY 12309. The program includes a 5k run, a 5k walk, a family 5k walk and a children's race. The 5k events are b-tag timed and timed by Albany Running Exchange.
Participants receive medals and some entries receive event shirts. Medals are provided to all participants; the first 200 individual race registrants receive Maddie's Mark shirts while the Family Walk and Children's Run receive medals only. Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers, with additional awards in 10-year age groups for top three male and female in each group.
On-site activities listed for the day include a playground, face painting, a Zumba warmup, children's activities and raffles. The event notes that all profit from the race goes directly to the Maddie's Mark Foundation, which provides Best Day Ever experiences to seriously and terminally ill children in the local area.
