About the race
The Macon Music Half Marathon is the fourth annual half marathon held in Macon, Georgia on November 21, 2026. Previous editions attracted runners from 26 states. The course highlights Macon’s musical and cultural heritage, passing landmarks such as the Grand Opera House, the Big House, Little Richard’s home, Capricorn Studios, the Otis Redding Foundation, and Mercer’s McDuffie Center for Strings, plus other historic and cultural sites.
Attractions along the course are being planned. The event starts at Carolyn Crayton Park and the route includes Luther Williams Field near the finish area. Walkers are permitted; the course has a 3.5 hour overall time limit and a 16 minute per mile cutoff after which sections are re-opened to traffic. No pets, bicycles, or skates are allowed on the race course, and participants pushing strollers are asked to use extreme caution.
No refunds or bib transfers are allowed. Practical details published by organizers include packet pickup at Luther Williams Field on November 20 and additional pickup on race morning at the start area, parking in Carolyn Crayton Park, five aid stations at approximately miles 3.25, 6, 8, 9.5, and 11 with fluids available at each station and at the start and finish, and restroom facilities at the start/finish and select aid stations. Finishers receive a commemorative medal and participants are offered a long sleeve hoodie while supplies last. Awards are given by overall place, masters categories, and standard age groups.
