Maasmarathon
The Maasmarathon is a cross-border running event that follows routes along the Meuse through Belgian and Dutch countryside in the heart of Europe. The course uses tranquil paths and country roads set in natural surroundings beside the river.
The event includes several race distances and additional activities. Facilities are located at the Hall Omnisport de Visé and the event receives support from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. Organisers run a tree-planting programme tied to registration numbers: at 3000 entrants 1500 trees, at 4000 entrants 2000 trees, and at 5000 entrants 2500 trees. After the 2024 and 2025 editions a total of 5024 trees had been planted.
Other features documented by the organisers include a Pasta Party and a social project to create a 500 m2 rooftop garden at Clinique Notre-Dame in Hermalle-sous-Argenteau. Results archives, photo galleries and sponsor lists are maintained for previous editions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
