Lydia's Run 5K
Lydia's Run 5K is a community road event held on September 19, 2026, in Somersworth, New Hampshire. The course and gathering are located at 120 Maple Street, behind St. Martin Church in the parking lot. The race offers a single distance, 5K, and lists a registration fee of $35.00 with registration opening July 1, 2026 and closing July 31, 2026.
The event is described as family friendly, with free face painting, snacks, and goodie bags. Organizers plan raffles, activities for all ages, post-race refreshments, and awards for the top female and top male finishers; winners receive a customized medal and category winners receive ribbons. Attendees are also welcome to bring dogs on leash.
Proceeds and attention from the event support Lydia's House of Hope, a faith-based transitional-living program for women and children affected by homelessness related to poverty, domestic violence, addiction, and generational trauma. The program runs for one year and provides case management, nurse advocacy, occupational therapy, mental health and substance abuse counseling, trauma therapy, and more than fifty life skills classes covering topics such as parenting, nutrition, work readiness, time management, and finance.
