Lutz Independence Day 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run
The Lutz Independence Day 5k and 1-Mile Family Fun Run is a community event held annually on July 4 in Lutz, Florida, before the Lutz Independence Day Parade. The event includes competitive and family-oriented race options and distributes a portion of proceeds to local organizations.

Registration is online only and there is no race day registration. Fees listed for 2026 include a $25 entry for the 5K and $20 for the 1-Mile; volunteer registration is free. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at the Lutz Train Depot; any unclaimed packets will be available on race morning.
Awards and race items include medals for all finishers and trophies for the 5K overall winners and age group placements. Trophies are awarded to first overall male and female, first masters male and female, and top three in five year age groups from 0-9 through 70 plus. Shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed by June 15, 2026; later registrations will be accommodated as possible.
