Lunenburg 5km Road Race and Muffin Run - June 7, 2026
This event in Lunenburg, NS, on June 7, 2026 is part of the Run Nova Scotia Road Race Series. The 5 km run/walk is a fundraiser for the West Nova Fuels Soccer Club and the Canadian Dory Racing Association and supports the Lunenburg Dory Program and youth participation in local community programming.
The route begins at the community centre and moves through town, along the boardwalk, past the Bluenose and several working fishing vessels. It follows the outer edge of town for views of the Lunenburg Academy before returning to town for a downhill finish.
Participants who register before May 15 receive a race t-shirt; shirts are not mailed if a registrant does not attend and sizes are distributed on race day on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-service dogs are prohibited from the course and runners with strollers are asked to line up at the back.
Awards and a reception take place in the Lunenburg Community Center shortly after the final runner finishes. Volunteers provide hundreds of homemade muffins and local merchants donate draw prizes and raffle items.
