Course and competition details
The swim is in freshwater on a rectangular course that parallels the shore for the first 250 meters. The bike course loops around the park, is described as flat with all right-hand turns and good pavement. The run mixes single-track lake views and wide graveled walking paths through forested areas. Sprint races use one loop for each discipline; Olympic races use multiple loops (swim 2, bike 3, run 2).
Swim starts use a time trial format, with two athletes started every few seconds. An Elite Box Start is also used to stage faster athletes at the front. The event includes finisher items such as a medal, shirt, socks, and race photography. The venue address is 1068 Howell School Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
