The Lowell 5K Run/Walk is a community 5-kilometer event held at Lowell Elementary School in Wheaton, Illinois on April 19, 2026. The event is organized by the Lowell PTA and operates as a fundraiser; proceeds for 2026 will benefit My Half Kitchen, a local nonprofit that provides job training and employment for women in DuPage County.
The course is a timed, flat, double loop through the neighborhood, starting and finishing at the school. Race shirts are available for purchase during registration if ordered by April 13; shirts are not included with the registration fee. Registration pricing for the 5K is listed as $18.50 for the period from March 1 to April 19, and there is an optional additional fee for a race shirt.
Race packets and shirts may be picked up at Lowell Elementary the day before the event. Pre-race check-in is mandatory to receive a bib. Day-of registration and packet pick-up are offered. The course is not USATF certified.
Participation policies note that strollers are welcome but will start in the back, while dogs, rollerblades, scooters, and bikes are not permitted on the course or school grounds. Awards include 1st place grade/age prizes across specified grade groups and adult categories, and finisher ribbons for all finishers. Volunteers are requested to support event operations.
