Event Information
The Lowell 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for April 19, 2026, starting and finishing at Lowell Elementary School on South President Street in Wheaton, Illinois. The event began in 1997 as a school fundraiser.
Course and Participation
The race features a timed, flat, double-loop course through the neighborhood. The activity is open to runners and walkers. Strollers are permitted but must start at the back of the group. Dogs, rollerblades, scooters, and bicycles are not allowed on the course or school grounds.
Beneficiary and Details
In 2026, all proceeds from the event will benefit the organization My Half Kitchen. Post-race refreshments will be available for participants. Awards are given for first place in various grade and age categories for males and females, and all finishers receive a ribbon.
Registration and Logistics
Registration is electronic, with fees that include a race shirt if registered by April 5, 2026. Day-of-race registration is available, but pre-registration is recommended.
