Trail Running in Atoka
The Love Never Ends Trail Run takes place at the Eagle Nest Ranch in Atoka, Oklahoma. This privately owned 1,000 acre ranch features a landscape of old growth trees, lakes, and local wildlife. The course provides a variety of terrain types, including single track, jeep trails, wooded paths, and exposed sections. Participants encounter surfaces consisting of gravel, dirt, sand, and roots. The topography is generally flat with some rolling hills.
The event offers several distances for participants:
- 100 km trail race
- 50 miles trail race
- 50 km trail race
- 5 km walk, run, or ruck
This is a cupless race, requiring participants to bring their own hydration bottles or handheld containers. Aid stations provide water and electrolyte drinks along with food items such as bananas, oranges, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, and cookies. For those running into the evening, ramen is also served. Primitive camping is available onsite with a limit of 50 spots, and several hotels are located in the nearby town of Atoka.
Proceeds from the event benefit The Great Root Movement, a non-profit organization. The funds support therapy services for bereaved mothers and victims of domestic abuse through the RIZE Scholarship, as well as educational memorial scholarships for high school seniors.
