Love and Legacy 5K at Summit YMCA
The Love and Legacy 5K takes place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Summit YMCA, 67 Maple Street, Summit, NJ. The event includes a 5K run or walk and a separate Kids' Dash held on the Village Green grass. All Kids' Dash participants receive a medal.
A Family Fun Fair runs alongside the event with a DJ, kids activities, program booths, and refreshments. A dedicated Love and Legacy Tree will be available for hanging photos, drawings, or other mementos in tribute to loved ones.
Proceeds support the Summit Area YMCA programs and help keep health and wellbeing resources available regardless of financial circumstances. Donations also sustain free initiatives such as LIVESTRONG at the YMCA for cancer survivors.
Race logistics and participant services include race day registration and check in, race packet pick up on April 30 at Fleet Feet, and official race shirts for those who register by April 6. Course rules note that strollers are allowed but participants should allow others to pass, and dogs are not permitted on the course but may cheer from the sidelines.
Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers and to top male and female finishers in these age groups: 9 and under; 10 to 14; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; 70 and above.
Rain or shine conditions apply for the race; the Family Fun Fair may be canceled if conditions are unsafe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
