Louisiana Triathlon - New Roads, LA
The Louisiana Triathlon takes place on May 2, 2026 in New Roads at False River. The event offers multiple competition formats and is identified as the 2025 USAT State Championship Triathlon.
Distances and formats:
- Standard sprint: 800 m swim, 18 mile bike, 5 km run
- Beginner division: 400 m swim, 18 mile bike, 5 km run
- Duathlon: 18 mile bike, 5 km run
- Relay: 2 or 3 person teams complete the full sprint distance
Eligibility and race structure note that most events are open to ages 15 and older. The beginner wave uses an out-and-back 400 m swim and will start in the last triathlon wave; results are listed by normal age groups but beginner and duathlon awards are given overall only. Relay teams must complete all three legs and use a tag procedure in transitions; bikes must be racked before a relay runner may leave transition.
Awards are offered for male and female overall placings, masters, grand masters, and standard age group categories. Beginner division, duathlon, and relay team awards are listed as overall placings. All awards must be claimed on race day; awards are not mailed.
Spectator locations include the Morrison Parkway parking lot near Satterfield's for the start, Main Street for transition viewing, and St. Mary's Street for the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
