Lost Sierra Endurance Race, July 25, 2026 - Downieville, California
The Lost Sierra Endurance Race offers three trail distances around Downieville and Plumas-Eureka State Park in California. Courses use mostly singletrack trail with a mix of rocky and smooth sections and some road or gravel.
- 100K : out-and-back between Downieville and Plumas-Eureka, 10,780 ft elevation gain.
- 50K : point-to-point from Plumas-Eureka State Park to Downieville, 5,360 ft elevation gain.
- 25K : loop from downtown Downieville on First, Second, and Third Divide Trails, 2,330 ft elevation gain.
There are five unique aid stations on the course. Aid stations provide water, hydration mix, and light food; Aid #1, Aid #2, and Aid #5 offer warm foods. Ice is available but may be limited at remote sites. Cutoff times are set per distance. Trail surface breakdown is approximately 70% alpine singletrack, 20% mountain bike singletrack, and 10% dirt, gravel, or paved road.
Specific race rules and logistics include mandatory items for 100K entrants such as a space blanket, hydration pack or vest, and a headlamp. Trekking poles are allowed. Pacers are permitted for 100K runners on the return at Aid #5 or Aid #2 with no event shuttle for pacers. Drop bag access is available for the 50K and 100K at designated aid stations.
Downieville is a small, remote town with limited lodging and camping options. Tent camping at the start area is permitted but this is not a campground and amenities are limited. The event has a no refund policy with a rollover credit schedule and an exception for pregnancy. All finishers receive event apparel and distance specific awards.
