Event details
The Longview 5K takes place on January 24, 2026 in Longview, Texas. The organizer is Texas Outlaw Running Company and the event is part of the City of Longview’s Healthy Initiative. The race offers two event types:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Ruck
Registration tiers are listed by date: early bird, standard, and late registration. There is no race day registration.
Course and logistics
The course is a point-to-point paved 5K that uses local neighborhood roads and the Boorman Trail. Parking and the finish area are located at 1016 McCann Rd, Longview, TX; the start is on the Boorman Trail and parking is not allowed at the start. Participants are shuttled from the finish parking area to the start. The course surface is pavement with about 140 ft total elevation gain. The event is chip-timed, fully marked, supported with aid station food and hydration, and includes police support and road closures.
Race items and awards
Registered participants receive a tee shirt (order by January 10 to guarantee size) and a finisher medal; ruck participants receive an additional ruck patch. Ruckers must carry 20 lbs if under 150 lbs and 30 lbs if over 150 lbs. Cash prizes are posted for overall places in each event and age-group awards are offered; the 5K Run/Walk lists amounts for top three overall places.
