Event Details
The Longview 5K is part of the City of Longview's Healthy Initiative and is organized by Texas Outlaw Running Company, which organizes more than 100 professional events. There are two event types: a 5K Run/Walk and a 5K Ruck.
Course and Format
The race features a point-to-point, paved 5K course on local neighborhood roads and the city's Boorman Trail. Participants park at the finish line at 1016 McCann Rd and are shuttled by bus to the start line on the Boorman Trail. The course has an elevation gain of 140 ft. The event is chip-timed and features police support and road closures.
Awards and Swag
Awards include cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers in both the run/walk and ruck events, as well as age group awards for the run/walk. All participants receive a finisher medal and a race tee shirt, with an order deadline to guarantee size. Ruck participants also receive a special patch. There is also a "Dead Last" award in both categories.
Event Experience
The finish line area includes vendors and food trucks, contributing to a party atmosphere. The event provides an aid station with food and hydration, professional photography, and a fully marked course. The historical average temperature for the date is 40–60°F.
Registration Information
Registration is priced at $15 per event. Late registration begins on February 14th at a higher price if the event is not sold out. There is no race-day registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
