Event overview
The Longview 5K takes place on January 24, 2026 in Longview, Texas. It is organized by Texas Outlaw Running Company as part of the City of Longview’s Healthy Initiative. The race uses a point-to-point format: participants park at the finish area at 1016 McCann Rd, are shuttled by bus to the start on the Boorman Trail, then follow a paved 5K course back to the parking/finish location. The start area does not allow parking. The course surface is pavement and the route has about 140 ft of elevation gain. The event is chip-timed and the course is fully marked and supported.

Entry fees change by registration period: $15 early bird (November 1 through December 31), $20 standard (January 1 through January 16), and $25 late registration beginning January 17 if not sold out. Ruck participants must carry a weighted backpack or vest: 20 lb for those under 150 lb and 30 lb for those over 150 lb. Registered participants receive a race tee (order by January 10 to guarantee size), a finisher medal, and ruckers receive a ruck patch. Prize structure includes cash awards for the 5K Run/Walk (1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50) and for the 5K Ruck (1st $100, 2nd $50, 3rd $20), age-group awards, and a "dead last" award.
