Event overview
Long Night in Lanford is a dusk-to-dawn trail event held November 15-16, 2025 in Enoree, South Carolina (210 Service Dr., Enoree, SC 29335). The main event runs overnight across multiple laps of a short off-road loop. A separate 5K event called "Afraid of the Dark" is scheduled on November 15. Proceeds benefit the Laurens County Humane Society. The event offers awards for top finishers, professional race photos, and hot breakfast at sunrise. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by October 15.
Course and logistics
The loop is a 1-mile off-road route that starts and finishes at a barn on gravel, goes downhill into woods, crosses an open field along Beaverdam Creek, passes through pine trees and hay pastures, and returns to the barn. Participants must complete the first lap at dusk and the final lap at dawn to be recorded as finishers. The overall winner is the participant who completes the most laps by sunrise. Headlamps and flashlights are used during night hours. No strollers or pets are allowed on the trail. An aid station will be stocked with snacks, water, and hot food.
Distances:
- 1 mile loop per lap for the overnight event
- 5 km for the Afraid of the Dark 5K
Additional logistics: gates open Saturday midday, packet pickup is available before the event, and camper spots are limited and offered on a first come, first serve basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
