Long Night In Lanford
Long Night In Lanford is a dusk to dawn trail event in Enoree, SC, organized by G.O.A.T. Trail Running. The format requires participants to begin at dusk and finish at dawn; a finisher must complete the first lap at dusk and the final lap at dawn. The winner is the participant with the most laps by sunrise. There are no cut off times or minimum speed requirements; participants may walk, jog, or run.
The course is a roughly 1 mile off road loop that starts at a barn on gravel, drops into woods, crosses an open field along Beaverdam Creek, passes through pine trees and hay pastures, and returns to the barn on gravel. Expect uneven terrain and wildlife. Strollers and pets are not permitted.
Night navigation relies on personal light sources; headlamps and flashlights are used through the night. A horn will mark the start, a mid event direction change, and the final lap at dawn. An aid station will be staffed overnight with snacks, water, and hot food provided by volunteers and sponsors.
Event day logistics include on site access for camping with space for tents and crew setups and afternoon packet pickup. Post event provisions include professional race photos, hot breakfast at sunrise, awards for top finishers, and guaranteed T shirts for entries submitted by October 15.
