Long Mynd Valleys 2026

The Long Mynd Valleys is a Shropshire fell race run over a mixture of trail and open fell, with some mandatory marked sections. The course distance is approximately 18 km with about 1300 m of total ascent. The event follows the same route as in 2024 and is organised by Mercia Fell Runners Club.

The race is held under Fell Runners Association rules and competitors must carry the full FRA kit required for this event. There will be random kit checks and compliance with FRA safety requirements is mandatory. Entrants should have completed a previous AM, BL or AL category race or a similar event and should have experience running in winter conditions. There are strict cut off points on the route and the course will close after four hours.

Entries open on 4 January 2026 and close on 6 February 2026. The minimum age for entry is 19 or older. The entry fee is £12.50. Race registration is at the National Trust Pavilion, Carding Mill Valley, Church Stretton SY6 6JG. Car parking is available at National Trust Carding Mill Valley and at Church Stretton School; National Trust parking is free for members and charged for non-members, while parking at Church Stretton School is free for participants.
