Long Grove’s Oktoberfest Half Marathon, 10K & 5K
This event takes place in Long Grove, Illinois on October 3, 2026, with start and finish at Brothers' Field (340 Old McHenry Rd). The courses run through downtown Long Grove and surrounding neighborhoods and include a stretch under the historic covered bridge. The route is almost entirely on paved streets.

The half marathon and 10K courses are USATF certified (IL16094NM and IL16097NM) and the event is chip timed. There are pacers available across a range of goal finish times and official time limits: half marathon 3.5 hours, 10K and 5K 1.5 hours. Water stations provide water on all courses and sports drink on the half marathon. A gear check is available on site; participants must use a clear bag provided by the organizers.
Packet pickup options include mailing the packet for $14.99, Friday pre-race pickup at Broken Earth Winery (219 Robert Parker Coffin Rd.), or event-morning pickup (may involve a wait). Event gear options include a short-sleeve or a long-sleeve shirt (long sleeve is a $9.99 upgrade). Finishers in the half marathon and 10K receive finisher medals; a 5K finisher medal is offered as an add-on. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall and in age groups; age divisions begin at 10 & under and extend to 70+.
An Oktoberfest celebration at Brothers' Field will offer brats and one complimentary beer for participants age 21 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
