Long Grove's Oktoberfest Half Marathon, 10K & 5K - Long Grove, Illinois - Oct. 3, 2026
This event offers three distance options run on streets through historic Downtown Long Grove and surrounding neighborhoods. The course is almost entirely on paved streets and includes USATF certifications for the half marathon and the 10K.

The event is chip-timed. Course time limits are 3.5 hours for the half marathon and 1.5 hours for the 10K and 5K. Water stations provide water on all courses and sports drink on half marathon stations. Pacers are available for a range of goal times.
Event amenities include a choice of short sleeve or long sleeve event shirts (long sleeve available for a fee), a gear check area that requires a clear bag, and parking in various lots around downtown Long Grove. Packet pickup options include mailed packet delivery for a fee, pre-event pickup, or event-morning pickup (event-morning pickup is not recommended and may involve a wait). Virtual participation and mailed gear are offered.
Awards: every half marathon and 10K finisher receives a finisher medal; the 5K finisher medal is an add-on. Winner medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall and in each age group. The finish area at Brothers' Field includes an Oktoberfest after party with brats and one complimentary beer for participants 21 and older.
