Long Grove's Oktoberfest Half Marathon, 10K and 5K
Long Grove’s Oktoberfest is a community road race held in Historic Downtown Long Grove on Oct. 3, 2026. The event offers three distance options:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The course runs mostly on paved streets through downtown Long Grove and surrounding neighborhoods. The half marathon and 10K are chip-timed and have USATF certifications (IL16094NM for the half and IL16097NM for the 10K). Course time limits are 3.5 hours for the half marathon and 1.5 hours for the 10K and 5K. Water stations provide water at all distances and sports drink at half marathon stations.
Post-race activities include an Oktoberfest after party at Brothers' Field, 340 Old McHenry Rd, with brats and beer for participants 21 plus; one complimentary beer is provided to eligible participants. Finisher medals are awarded to every participant in the half marathon and 10K; a 5K finisher medal is available as an add-on. Event gear options include a short sleeve shirt or a long sleeve upgrade for $9.99. Packet mailing is available for $14.99; packet pick up is also offered with on-site pick up not recommended and potential wait times. Pacers are available at a range of goal times.
