Event Overview
This is the 46th edition of the Long Beach Biathlon. The event takes place in Long Beach, New York. There are three distinct race categories: Adult, Teen, and Children's races.
Race Distances and Courses
The event features different run-swim combinations for each age group:
- Adult Race: A 3-mile run on the boardwalk at Riverside Boulevard, followed by a 300-yard ocean swim.
- Teen Race: A 1-mile run along the beach starting at Riverside Boulevard, followed by a 150-yard ocean swim.
- Children's Race: A 1/2-mile run along the beach starting at Riverside Boulevard, followed by a 50-yard shallow swim.
For the adult race, the run portion takes place on the boardwalk. Participants run west to New York Avenue, turn east back to Riverside Boulevard, and then proceed down to a beach transition area for the ocean swim. The teen and children's running portions remain on the shore.
Registration and Amenities
Registration is available online and in person on the day of the event. A free t-shirt is provided to all pre-registrants and day-of-race registrants while supplies last. Awards are given to the top five males and females in the adult age groups (16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+). All children aged 7 to 15 receive awards.
