About the race
Long Beach Biathlon is a swim and run event held in Long Beach, NY. The event includes separate adult, teen, and children's races on the boardwalk and beach, each followed by an ocean swim. Registration is not yet open; registration will open ahead of the listed event date and information from the previous edition is available.
Races and distances:
- Adult Race: 3 mile run on the boardwalk then 300 yard ocean swim.
- Teen Race: 1 mile run along the beach then 150 yard ocean swim.
- Children's Race: 1/2 mile run along the beach then 50 yard shallow swim.
The adult course begins on the boardwalk between Long Beach and Monroe boulevards, runs west to New York Avenue, returns east on the boardwalk to Riverside, passes through cones at the Riverside beach ramp entrance, proceeds down the sand hill to a transition area near shore, and continues with the ocean swim.
Amenities listed for the event include a free T-shirt for pre-registrants and day-of registrants while supplies last, live/text/email results, free finish line photos, and same-day video and finish-line pictures. Awards are given to the top five men and women in age groups 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+, and all children ages 7–15 receive awards.
