Long Beach Biathlon
The Long Beach Biathlon is a multisport event in Long Beach, NY that pairs a running leg on the boardwalk or beach with an ocean swim. The event is held rain or shine and includes separate races for adults, teens, and children. Registration for the upcoming edition is not yet open. A prior edition was listed as the 45th Annual on July 18, 2026.
Distances offered:
- Adult: 3 mile run then 300 yard ocean swim
- Teen: 1 mile run then 150 yard ocean swim
- Children: 1/2 mile run then 50 yard shallow swim
The adult course starts on the boardwalk near Monroe and Long Beach boulevards, proceeds west to New York Avenue, returns east on the boardwalk toward Riverside, then follows a marked route to a transition area closer to shore before the ocean swim. Teen and children courses run along the beach beginning at Riverside Boulevard with shorter swim sections in shallower water for younger participants.
Event amenities noted for previous editions include free T-shirts while supplies last for preregistrants and day registrants, live online/text/email results, and free finish line photos. Awards are presented to the top five men and women in age categories from 16-19 up to 60+, and all children ages 7 to 15 receive awards.
