Long Beach Biathlon
The Long Beach Biathlon is a multisport event held in Long Beach, New York. It features separate race formats for adults, teens, and children that combine a run along the boardwalk or beach with an ocean swim.
Race distances include:
- Adult: 3 mile run on the boardwalk, 300 yard ocean swim
- Teen: 1 mile run along the beach, 150 yard ocean swim
- Children's: 1/2 mile run along the beach, 50 yard shallow swim
The adult course starts on the boardwalk near Long Beach and Monroe boulevards, proceeds west to New York Avenue, returns east on the boardwalk to Riverside, and then moves through cones at the Riverside beach ramp to a transition area closer to shore before the ocean swim.
Amenities noted for the event include a free T shirt for pre-registrants and day of race registrants while supplies last, live results available by online and text or email, and free finish line photos. In person registration, T shirt and race tag pickup are available on race day.
Awards are given to the top five male and female finishers in the age groups 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. All children ages 7 to 15 receive awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
