London Calling
London Calling is a mixed terrain running event held on the North Dorset Trailway. The course follows an out and back route along the trailway, providing views of the River Stour and Hambledon Hill. Participants also pass the historic Shillingstone Station along the way.
The event operates on a lap-based system, with each lap measuring 5.3 km (3.28 miles). This format allows participants to choose their own distance on the day. Available distances include:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra marathon
The start and finish area is hosted by the Big Yellow Bus Garden Project in Shillingstone. Registration and race number pick-up take place on-site before the event begins. An aid station is located at the start and finish of each lap, offering a selection of sweet and savoury items. This is a cupless event, so runners must bring their own reusable bottles or cups. A designated area is also provided for participants to leave personal items.
The venue features on-site toilets and parking is available at the nearby Eastbrook Farm for a fee. The nearest train station is Gillingham, located 12 miles from the site. All participants who complete at least one lap receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
