Overview
The Tampa General Hospital Loggerhead Triathlon is a long-standing multisport event held in Jupiter, Florida. Established in 1985, the race takes place at Carlin Park and features an ocean-side setting. The event is produced by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce and offers several competition formats to accommodate different types of athletes.
Events and Distances
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- Loggerhead Triathlon - Individual: A standard triathlon consisting of a 3/8 mile ocean swim, a 13 mile bike leg, and a flat 3.1 mile run.
- Loggerhead Triathlon - Relay Team: The standard triathlon course completed by a team of athletes.
- Loggerhead Triathlon - Duathlon: An alternative format for those who prefer not to swim.
- Loggerhead Triathlon - AquaBike: A specialized event focusing on the swimming and cycling portions of the course.
Participation and Awards
The event includes a First Timer Division, which features a separate start wave and an educational seminar for those new to multisport racing. Special registration pricing is available for youth athletes between the ages of 14 and 19. Companies may also organize corporate teams of five or more members, which provides access to priority packet pickup and group photo opportunities.
