Event overview
The Loch Lomond 10K and 5K take place on 20 June 2026 at Moss O'Balloch Park in Balloch, Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire. The event includes the following distances:
- 10K
- 5K
The 5K starts shortly after the 10K so many runners finish together.
Routes
The 10K route is described as relatively flat and fast with views of Loch Lomond. It uses paths within Balloch Castle Country Park and the cycle path along the River Leven, providing a mostly traffic-free course. The 5K is held entirely within Balloch Castle Country Park and includes some inclines and declines, finishing on a downhill section. The 10K route was adapted in 2025 so the loop between the 4 km and 8 km points runs in the opposite direction to previous years; this includes a stretch along the River Leven from Balloch Bridge to Bonhill Bridge, a crossing of Bonhill Bridge, a return on the opposite riverbank and a crossing at Stuckie Bridge back to the park.
