Loch Lomond 10k

Event Details

The event will be held on Saturday, 20 June 2026. The start and finish area is in the Moss O’ Balloch Park in Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire.

The event consists of two races: the Loch Lomond 10K and the Loch Lomond 5K, along with a Fun Run. The 10K starts first, followed shortly after by the 5K, enabling all runners to finish together.

The Courses

The 10K route is described as relatively flat and fast, with views of Loch Lomond. It uses paths within Balloch Castle Country Park and the cycle path along the River Leven, providing a relatively traffic-free race. For 2026, a section of the route will be run in the opposite direction, including a stretch along the River Leven between Balloch Bridge and Bonhill Bridge. Runners will cross Bonhill Bridge and return on the opposite side before crossing again at Stuckie Bridge to head back to the finish.

The 5K route is held completely within Balloch Castle Country Park. The course has some inclines and declines and finishes with a downhill section.

Participant Information

There are age restrictions: runners must be at least 15 years old for the 10K and at least 11 years old for the 5K on the day of the event. Maximum time limits are 1 hour 45 minutes for the 10K and 1 hour 10 minutes for the 5K.

All participants receive an event-branded running t-shirt, a bespoke race medal, water, and snacks. There is a prize list for individual winners and teams in various categories.

Registration

Online entry is available. To receive a race pack by post, entrants must register by 10:00 on Monday, 8 June 2026. General online entry continues until 10:00 on Thursday, 18 June 2026. On-the-day entry may be possible but is not guaranteed. A refund policy exists with a cancellation deadline and an administration fee.
