NLB Ljubljana Marathon
The NLB Ljubljana Marathon is an annual sporting event that takes place in the capital of Slovenia. The event is recognized as an IAAF Road Race GOLD Label event and attracts thousands of runners to the streets of Ljubljana. In preparation for the 30th edition, the event features a variety of distances to accommodate different levels of participation.
Participants can choose from several adult races:
- 42.195 km (Full marathon)
- 21.098 km (Half marathon)
- 10 km (10 km run)
Additionally, there is a 200 m kids run designed for preschoolers. The event schedule is spread across a weekend, with the 10 km run held on Saturday and the longer distances on Sunday.
A Running Expo is organized in conjunction with the races at the GR Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event has a long history dating back to 1996 and is known for its route through the city's streets. The marathon also participates in the Abbott World Marathon Majors age group rankings.
