Live Oak Ultra
Rougarou Running stages Live Oak Ultra in Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The event features a supported 50K and a Half Marathon on an urban route that passes the Biloxi Lighthouse, the beach boardwalk, the Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge, Front and East Beaches, and Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park. The course returns to downtown Biloxi with a finish area at Altered Reality Brewing.
Distances:
- 50K
- Half Marathon
The route is marked with neon tape and limited turn signage. Organizers provide GPX course files and pocket-sized turn cards; participants are advised to load GPX files to a phone map app or watch. Aid and logistics include approximately six aid locations offering water, Hammer Nutrition products (Heed and gels), fruit, and snacks. Some stations are unmanned water stops; others offer staffed support and restrooms. Drop bags are allowed at aid stations 2/5, 3, and 4 and should be labeled and compact. Public facilities and portable toilets are available at several points along the course.
Racing guidelines include a 10 hour course cutoff with some flexibility at the finish. Awards are given to all finishers; the 50K adds top three male and female awards plus age division awards, while the Half Marathon awards all finishers and the top three male and female. The organizer supports Ainsley Angels and accepts additional donations at registration and on race day. Refunds are allowed up to 14 days before the event with fees and taxes excluded; bib transfers and other entry accommodations are available.
