Live Oak Ultra
Rougarou Running presents the Live Oak Ultra, an urban supported event in Biloxi and Ocean Springs, MS. The route passes the Biloxi Lighthouse, runs along the beach boardwalk, crosses the bridge to Downtown Ocean Springs, visits Front and East Beaches, and continues into Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park before returning to downtown Biloxi for a finish social at Altered Reality Brewing.
Distances offered:
- 50K
- Half Marathon
Course navigation is supported with GPX course files for phones and watches and pocket-sized turn cards available at check in. The route uses neon tape to mark turns but has limited signage, so awareness and basic navigation are required. Personal crew support is allowed; urban services such as gas stations, cafes, and Tato Nut Donuts are available along the way.
Aid and logistics include approximately six aid locations with water, Hammer Nutrition products, fruit, snacks, and some extra food options. There will be beverages and a meal at the finish. Drop bags are allowed at stations 2/5, 3, and 4 and will be collected before the race start. Specific aid points include unmanned water at the Golden Nugget, an Ainsley Angels full station at Ft Maurepas/Front Beach, Tri Hard Sports on Porter Avenue, and Davis Bayou Park Pavilion.
Runners have a 10 hour course limit. Finishers receive unique awards; the 50K has overall and age group awards and the Half Marathon awards all finishers plus top three male and female. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
