Live Oak Ultra

Live Oak Ultra is an urban supported running event organized by Rougarou Running in Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The event offers two distances:

• 50K
• Half marathon

The route passes landmarks in Biloxi and Ocean Springs, including the Biloxi Lighthouse, the beach boardwalk, the Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge, Front and East Beaches, and sections of the Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park. The course starts and finishes at Altered Reality Brewing in downtown Biloxi and returns there for post-run activities.

Navigation is aided by GPX course files intended for phone map apps and watches, pocket-sized turn cards, and neon tape at turns. The route is urban with relatively low traffic and some public restroom facilities along the way. There are approximately six aid locations offering water, Hammer Nutrition products, fruit, and snacks; some extra food options may be provided. Personal crew support is permitted and drop bags are allowed at selected aid stations with labeling required; bags are collected prior to the race start.

Runners have a 10 hour time limit to complete the 50K course. Awards are given to all finishers and additional awards are presented for top overall and age divisions in the 50K; the half marathon provides finisher awards and top three male and female awards. The organizer maintains a refund and transfer policy that allows full refunds up to 14 days before the event excluding taxes and processing fees.
