Live Oak Ultra
Live Oak Ultra is a supported trail and urban ultra event in Biloxi, Mississippi, organized by Rougarou Running. The event offers two distances and uses downtown Biloxi and Ocean Springs as its primary route, with the start and finish at Altered Reality Brewing.
The route passes notable coastal and urban landmarks, including the Biloxi Lighthouse, the beach boardwalk, the Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge, Front and East Beaches, and sections of Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park. Navigation is required; organizers provide GPX course files and pocket-sized turn cards, and the course will have neon tape marking at turns rather than frequent signs.
Aid and crew options are provided. There are approximately six aid locations with water, Hammer Nutrition products, fruit, and snacks; some stations offer restrooms. Personal crew may meet runners along the route, and common public facilities and commercial stops are also available. Drop bags are allowed at specified midrace stations; runners are asked to label bags and avoid boxes.
Runners have a ten hour limit to complete the 50K course, with some flexibility at the finish. All finishers receive awards; the 50K also awards top overall and age-division finishers, while the half-marathon awards all finishers plus top overall places. The event uses timing via the Ultrasignup app.
The organizer maintains a refund policy that allows full registration refunds if the withdrawal occurs more than 14 days before the race, with taxes and platform fees nonrefundable. Volunteer service at prior editions can earn reduced or free entries to future events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
