Event overview
Live Oak Ultra is a supported urban 50K in Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi, organized by Rougarou Running and scheduled for January 31, 2026. The route runs past the Biloxi Lighthouse, along a beach boardwalk, over the bridge to Downtown Ocean Springs, Front and East Beaches, and through Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park, returning to downtown Biloxi for a finishers' gathering at Altered Reality Brewing. The course may be adjusted if park permitting remains unavailable; the planned route will be very similar to the 2025 route if changes are needed. All finishers receive a unique quality award; additional awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers and top male/female in each age division.
Course, aid, and logistics
The event uses timing from the Ultrasignup app and has a 10-hour course completion limit. There will be approximately six aid locations offering water, Hammer Nutrition products (Heed and gels), fruit and snacks, and some extra food options at the finish. Aid locations listed in the announcement include Aid 1/5 (miles 7.1 and 25.6) at Ft Maurepas, Front Beach Dr with restroom; Aid 2 (mile 11.1) at Tri Hard Sports - Porter Ave; and Aid 3/4 (miles 16.0 and 21.5) at the Park Pavilion with restroom. Drop bags are allowed at stations 1/5 and 3/4 but not at 2; bags should be small, labeled, and not boxed. GPX files, route photos, pocket turn cards, and section descriptions will be provided when finalized. Personal crew support and public facilities are available along the route. The refund policy allows a 100% registration refund if withdrawal occurs more than 14 days before the race; taxes and platform fees are not refundable, and bib transfers are permitted.
