12th Annual Live Like Jake 5k
The Live Like Jake 5k is a community running and walking event held in Downtown Abacoa at the Amphitheater in Jupiter, Florida. Now in its twelfth year, the event centers on the theme Wear Bright - Stay In Sight, which encourages participants to wear neon colors to promote drowning prevention and child safety.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5k run or walk for in-person participants.
- 5k run or walk for first responders, swim instructors, and military personnel.
- 5k virtual run for those participating remotely.
- 100 Yards Kids Dash for children aged five and under.
- Sleep In option for those who wish to contribute without participating in the race.
Registration for the in-person race includes a high-performance race shirt or hat. A custom finisher medal is provided to the first 1,200 registered participants, and a swag bag is available to the first 600 in-person runners. The event grounds feature a dedicated Kids Zone with music, entertainment, and family activities.
Following the run, an awards ceremony recognizes top finishers in traditional age groups as well as categories for the largest school team, largest gym team, and overall largest team. Proceeds from the event are used to fund self-rescue swim lesson scholarships and provide support to families who have experienced the loss of a child or have a child with critical medical needs.
