Little Wharf 3-Miler
The Little Wharf 3-Miler is a coastal, net downhill road race held on September 26, 2026. The course starts at the East Cliff Village Shopping Center in Santa Cruz (21511 East Cliff Drive) and finishes on the Capitola Esplanade in Capitola Village. The route follows the coastline and passes Blacks Beach, Sunny Cove Beach, Moe’s Beach at the Corcoran Lagoon, 26th Beach, Pleasure Point, and the Capitola Wharf.
The event is offered as an in-person race or a virtual option. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Fleet Feet Aptos; hats and race merchandise are mailed to registrants ahead of the event. Registration for 2026 is open and sold in price blocks; youth entries (17 and under) have a fixed lower price while available.
Safety measures include a closed course with no vehicular traffic and a list of prohibited items such as skateboards, bikes, wagons, roller skates or blades, and pets. Start corrals are self-assigned by pace, and all participants must maintain a 20 minute per mile pace. Emergency medical services are available on course and at the finish. Organizers advise bringing water for the course as on-course water availability may vary; water and a refillable PATH bottle are provided at the finish.
