Little Colorado River Gorge Half Marathon & 10K
The event takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park near Cameron, Arizona. It includes the following distances:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 2-mile community fun run (free)
Online and on-site registration are available through race day. Packet pick-up and on-site registration occur at the start line on Saturday morning. The park offers ample parking, permanent pit toilets, dramatic overlooks and arts & crafts vendors.
Course and logistics
The half marathon begins and ends at the Shadow Mountain Viewpoint in the park. The route heads more than 6.5 miles up to the upper overlook using dirt roads, double-track, historic Highway 64 and singletrack trail. Runners are advised to approach the course as a trail run. The start/finish elevation is just over 5,000 feet, and the highest elevation is over 5,500 feet. There are sections with 1,500-foot drop-offs at a couple of locations. The 10K is an out-and-back on the same route; its terrain is rocky and has difficult sections, particularly between 10K miles 2-4. Course adjustments may be made by park officials or organizers if weather or conditions require changes.
Awards and post-race
There are overall and age-group awards for both the half marathon and the 10K. Age groups include 12 and under, 13-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. All half marathon and 10K finishers receive a finisher’s medal. Post-race snacks and live music are provided. The event is co-sponsored by NavajoYES, LCR Navajo Tribal Park and Navajo Parks & Recreation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
