Little Blackfoot
Little Blackfoot is a trail race near Elliston, Montana, listed with Helena, MT, offering two distance options. The event uses out and back courses that follow trail and gravel road access near Kading Campground on Little Blackfoot River Road.
All runners start together and follow the road to the end before dropping onto the trail that leads to the Little Blackfoot Meadows trailhead. Participants cross two wooden bridges over a creek, then continue up the trail to Blackfoot Meadows, which serves as the turnaround point for the shorter distance. Runners return along the same trail to the start and finish area; this location is the finish for the 15K distance.
Runners selecting the longer distance pass through the start area, cross the road, and continue on the Kading Grade trail to climb a route that reaches the top of the Continental Divide. Those runners then retrace the same route back to the start and finish area.
Additional event details include a registration deadline listed as Wednesday, July 15 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time. The course description notes trail features such as wooden bridges, meadow sections, and a climb to the divide. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
