Lions on the Leon Captain "D" Dash for "Sight" 5K Fun Run/Walk
This event is a community 5K fun run and walk held at Heritage Park in Belton, Texas, and hosted by the Belton Lions Club on October 3, 2026. The course starts and ends at the Lions Pavilion, runs along Park Avenue, follows the trail around the baseball fields and along the Leon River. The course includes four water stations and provides race snacks on return.
The event is a timed race with timing provided by Pro-Fit Race Timing. Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, with no duplicate awards. Age groups are 11 and under, 12–15, 16–19, then five-year increments from 20–24 to 65–69, and 70 plus. There are four costume awards decided by people’s choice.
Every registered 5K participant receives a swag "Pirate’s Booty" bag, a bib raffle entry, and a custom spinner race medal and/or event sunglasses while supplies last. The event includes an eyeglass collection for Texas Lions recycling. Event T-shirts are guaranteed to full registrations received by September 17, with limited quantities afterward. The event is held rain or shine and refunds are not offered. Early packet pick-up is available at John Corsi State Farm Insurance, 100 Lake Road, Belton; race day packet pick-up and registration are available at the race site. Strollers are welcome.
