Lions on the Leon Captain "D" Dash for "Sight" 5K Fun Run/Walk
This is a community 5K run/walk hosted by the Belton Lions Club at Heritage Park in Belton, Texas. The route begins and ends at the Lions Pavilion, follows Park Avenue and the trail around the baseball fields, and runs along the Leon River. The course includes four water stations and race snacks at the finish. Timing is provided by Pro-Fit Race Timing.
Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, with no duplicate awards. Age groups span from 11 and under through 70 plus. There are four costume awards determined by people’s choice.
Every registered 5K participant receives a swag "Pirate’s Booty" bag, a bib raffle entry, and a custom spinner race medal and/or event sunglasses while supplies last. Event T-shirts are guaranteed for full registrations completed by September 17; limited shirts may be available afterward. The event is held rain or shine and no refunds are offered.
Regular registration fees through September 17 and later fees are noted by the organizer. Registrants age 17 and under may register at a reduced price; the reduced rate does not include a complimentary event T-shirt. Early packet pick-up is available at John Corsi State Farm Insurance, 100 Lake Road, Belton. Strollers are welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
