Event Overview
The Lion Run and Family Fun is a running and walking event held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Centennial Park in Grafton, Wisconsin. The event includes a 5K run and a 2 mile walk.
Benefitting Charities
Proceeds from the event benefit two 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations:
- The Wisconsin Lions Camp for Children with Diabetes, which provides free camp experiences for children with conditions including diabetes, autism, blindness, and hearing difficulties.
- The Grafton Lions Foundation, which supports local community initiatives, non-profits, and scholarships.
The Course
Both the 5K run and 2 mile walk start and finish at Centennial Park. The course is described as fast and flat, following an out-and-back route on 17th street.
Family Fun Day Activities
Following the races, the event includes a Family Fun Day. Activities mentioned include live music, a visit from a character named Louie the Lion, Grafton Men’s Softball games, food and beverages, barrel train rides, classic games, and a visit from Grafton First Responders. Event Details
- Registration opens on February 22, 2026.
- All participants registered by noon on July 26 are guaranteed a cotton unisex race shirt.
- The event is chip-timed with a chip start.
- Awards are given for overall male and female finishers and the top three finishers in age groups (0-14, then every 5 years).
- There is one on-course water station.
- Walkers and families are welcome to participate.
- Parking is available on site at Centennial Park.
- Packet pickup and race-day registration begin at 8:00 AM.
