Lincoln Douglas 5K and Fun Run (Freeport, IL)
The Lincoln-Douglas event is the 23rd annual series of races held on August 8, 2026 at Taylor Park, 900 East Stephenson Street, Freeport, IL. The course starts and finishes near the statue of Abraham Lincoln, the Debater. A backup location is The Family YMCA on the HCC campus.
The program includes a certified, wheel-measured 5K (3.1 miles) laid out as three loops on the historic paved road inside Taylor Park. The course is described as flat and fast and is organized to help runners pursue a personal best. A one-mile fun run follows one loop of the same course. A set of kids races is held separately, with the event indicating an informal title of "Fastest Kid in Town" for the top youth competitors.
