Pretzel City 5k, Freeport IL

The Pretzel City 5k takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Krape Park in Freeport, Illinois. The event is open to participants ages 99 and under. Entry fee listed on the event page is $30. All pre registered participants receive an event T shirt.

The course uses flat roadways and park paths that wind through Krape Park. The route starts in the parking lot near the mini golf area and the baseball field, follows Yellow Creek, passes the Krape Park waterfall and the twin caves, crosses two scenic bridges, exits the tree lined south entrance of the park, and returns to the park. Refreshments and awards are provided after the race at the Gunkle Shelter.

The course is certified by USA Track and Field, code IL-12088-JW, and the event is recognized by the RRCA. The race is also part of the Rockford Road Runners circuit.
