Event details
The Pretzel City 5k is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Freeport, Illinois. The race is held at Krape Park, 1799 S. Park Blvd, Freeport, IL 61032. The entry fee is $30. Registration opens January 12, 2026, and the event is open to participants aged 99 and under. The race is part of the Rockford Road Runners circuit and is recognized by RRCA. All pre-registered participants will receive an event T-shirt. The event lists 200 spots available.
Course and logistics
The course uses flat roadways and park paths that wind through Krape Park. The route begins in the parking lot near the mini golf and baseball field, follows Yellow Creek, passes the Krape Park waterfall and twin caves, crosses two bridges, exits the park through the tree-lined south entrance, and returns to the park. Refreshments and awards are provided after the race at the Gunkle Shelter. The course is certified by USA Track and Field, code IL-12088-JW.
