The Lighthouse Marathon and Ultra : 7 November 2026
The event is a point-to-point trail race on the Cornish coast path organised by Bys Vyken Events. It includes a marathon and an ultra and runs between coastal lighthouses and towns on the west Cornwall coast. Entries open 1 April 2026 and close two weeks before the event. Refunds are allowed up to four weeks before the start and deferrals up to two weeks before the start.

Course and terrain
The marathon runs from Pendeen to Godrevy lighthouse. The ultra starts at Land's End and joins the marathon route at Pendeen before finishing at Godrevy, taking in Longships, Pendeen and Godrevy lighthouses. The course follows coastal paths with varied terrain: mud, water, rocks, sand and tarmac, plus dunes and sustained climbs. The marathon includes nearly 4,000 feet of ascent; the ultra includes roughly 1,800 feet more.
Logistics and rules
Registration is at the Sunset Surf Cafe in Gwithian. Transport is provided from registration to the start and organisers state that all runners get a bus seat. There is free parking for runners and a bag-drop at the venue. The ultra field is limited (70 places mentioned). Cut-off times are published for each race. Entrants must be over 18, medically able, trained and properly equipped. Crew are allowed on the route but support runners are not. If an Amber or Red weather warning is issued, the organisers may reschedule or hold the event virtually. ARC permit numbers are provided.
