About the race
Lighthouse Marathon, hosted by Bys Vyken Events, is billed as Cornwall’s toughest marathon. It’s a point-to-point trail race along the Cornish Coast Path, from Pendeen to Godrevy. Runners face mud, water, rocks, sand, and tarmac, with big climbs and dunes and nearly 4,000 feet of height gain.
Autumn weather adds to the challenge, often with rain. The finish line nods to its lighthouse heritage, with beating the light as a final obstacle. In 2025 the event adds the Lighthouse Ultra (34 miles), visiting three lighthouses—Longships, Pendeen, and Godrevy—and limited to 70 runners.
