Event overview
The Lighthouse Marathon and Ultra takes place on 7 November 2026 on the Cornish coast. The event is a point-to-point trail race along the Cornish Coast Path. The marathon runs from Pendeen to Godrevy lighthouse and covers 26.2 miles. The ultra starts at Land's End, passes Longships Lighthouse, joins the marathon route near Pendeen and is approximately 35 miles in total. The course includes rocks, sand, tarmac, dunes and significant climbs.

The marathon has nearly 4000 feet of height gain. The ultra includes roughly an additional 1800 feet of gain. The ultra field is limited to 70 runners. Race registration is at Sunset Surf Cafe, Gwithian TR27 5ED. Buses transfer runners from Gwithian to the start and parking at the event car park is free for runners; bag drop and post-race food are provided. Refunds are available up to four weeks before the event; deferrals are allowed up to two weeks before the event but deferrals cannot be refunded at the subsequent race. If the Met Office issues an Amber or Red weather warning the race will not go ahead and may be rescheduled or held virtually.
