The Lighthouse Marathon and Ultra
The Lighthouse Marathon and Ultra is scheduled for 6 November 2027 and is organised by Bys Vyken Events. The event base is Sunset Surf Cafe, Gwithian TR27 5ED. There are affiliated and non affiliated entry categories and separate entries for the Ultra.
Routes and distances:
- Marathon route: Pendeen to Godrevy lighthouse, 26 miles
- Ultra: Longships Lighthouse to Pendeen 10 miles, then 25 miles to finish
The course follows coastal paths and includes rocks, sand and tarmac. Mud, water and likely rain are mentioned as possible conditions. The route includes large climbs and dunes with over 4000 feet of total ascent; the Ultra adds a further 1800 feet of elevation gain.
Organiser information and conditions include ARC permit number ARC/27/, refunds up to four weeks before the start date and deferrals up to two weeks before the start date. Deferrals cannot be refunded at the subsequent race. Crew are allowed but no support runners may accompany participants on the course. A kit list coat can be hired on request.
If the Met Office issues an Amber or Red weather warning the event cannot go ahead; it may be rescheduled or held virtually if rescheduling is not possible.
