Event Overview
The Light the Way 5K is an event supporting mental wellness, suicide prevention, and community support. It is presented by The Evie Effect and held at True Vine Brewing Company in Tyler.
Events and Schedule
The event takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Early packet pickup is available the day before at the venue.
- 5K: A timed run/walk event.
- Kids Dash: A non-timed dash for participants 12 years old and under.
- No Run Fun! - Shirt Only: An option to receive a shirt without participating in a run.
Post-Race Activities
After the run, there will be a free live concert featuring the bands R&J Acoustics and Fiction Love, as well as an inspiring speaker session. Awards will be presented on stage for the top three overall male and female 5K finishers and the top three boys and girls in the Kids Dash.
Participant Perks
Registered participants can receive various perks. The first 250 5K finishers and all Kids Dash participants get a finisher medal. Each paid registration includes a drink coupon redeemable at True Vine Brewing Company for a beer or non-alcoholic beverage. Food will be available from local food trucks and Sola Bread. The venue includes a kids area, and glow sticks are passed out for the evening event.
General Information
The event is family-friendly. Leashed dogs and strollers are welcome on the course. Free parking is available at the venue and surrounding lots. Proceeds from the event benefit The Evie Effect, a nonprofit charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
