Lifeline's Run for One 5K - Birmingham and virtual
Lifeline's Run for One is an annual event organized by Lifeline Children’s Services that began in 2011. The event brings together alumni families, friends, advocates, and community partners to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children through Lifeline’s global orphan care ministry (GOC). Through GOC, children are enrolled in school, learn life skills, and hear the hope of the gospel.
The event offers multiple participation options:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
In Birmingham, the in-person activities take place at Veterans Park on Valleydale Road in Hoover, AL. The day includes a family festival with bounce houses, food trucks, face painting, Touch-A-Truck sponsored by CraneWorks, outdoor games, and music. There is a packet pickup option the day before at TrakShak280. Award categories include top overall male and female and the top two male and female finishers in these age groups: 19 and under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, and 50+.
A virtual "Run Where You Are" option allows participants to run locally and receive a mailed race packet. Registration fees are non-refundable; if the event must be canceled or changed due to weather, safety, or other circumstances beyond the organizers' control, fees will be considered a donation to Lifeline’s mission and no refunds will be issued.
