Lifeline's Run for One 5K - Birmingham and Virtual
Lifeline’s Run for One is an annual event held on August 29, 2026 that supports Lifeline Children’s Services' global orphan care ministry. The event gathers alumni families, friends, advocates, and community partners to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children.
The in-person portion takes place at Veterans Park on Valleydale Road in Hoover, AL (4800 Valleydale Road). The morning includes a competitive 5K and a one-mile Fun Run, followed by a family festival with bounce houses, Touch-A-Truck sponsored by CraneWorks, outdoor games, food trucks, and music. Packet pickup for Birmingham participants is available the day before at TrakShak280. The 5K course is not stroller friendly. Award categories include Top Overall Male and Female and the top two Male and Female finishers in each age group: 19 and Under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, and 50+.
A virtual Run Where You Are option allows participants to complete a 5K from a local park, neighborhood, trail, or treadmill. Virtual participants receive a mailed race packet that includes a T-shirt; organizers note they cannot ensure shirts arrive before August 29 for late virtual registrations. All registration fees are non-refundable; if the event is canceled or adjusted due to weather or safety concerns, payments may be treated as donations to support Lifeline’s mission.
