Lifeline's R(un) for One 5K
Started in 2011, this annual event brings together Lifeline Children’s Services alumni families, friends, advocates, and community partners to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children worldwide. Lifeline’s international orphan care ministry helps children enroll in school, learn life skills, and hear the hope of the gospel.
The in-person portion takes place at Veterans Park, 4800 Valleydale Road, Hoover, AL. The Birmingham event includes a 5K race with a chipped bib timed by Trak Shak and a one mile fun run. The day also features a family festival with bounce houses, food trucks, face painting, and other activities.
A virtual option called Run Where You Are lets participants run in local parks, neighborhoods, or on a treadmill. Virtual participants receive a mailed race packet that includes a T-shirt; shipping may not guarantee delivery before August 29 if registration occurs after August 15. An additional fee applies to cover packet shipping and a $10 discount is available for families or groups of three or more.
Awards in Birmingham include top overall male and female and the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 plus. All entry fees are non-refundable; the organizer reserves the right to postpone, cancel, or change event details as needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
