About the race
Lifeline’s Run for One is a charity running event held on August 29, 2026, in Hoover, Alabama, at Veterans Park on Valleydale Road. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation and supports Lifeline Children’s Services’ global orphan care ministry. In Birmingham there are timed and untimed options. Packet pickup is available the day before at Track Shak 280 on August 28 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on race morning at Veterans Park beginning at 7:00 AM.
Registration opens April 29, 2026 and closes August 29, 2026. Registration fees listed in the event materials are $35 for the Birmingham 5K, $25 for the Birmingham 1 mile fun run, and $40 for the virtual 5K; the virtual fee includes an additional amount for packet shipping. Virtual entries may receive a mailed race packet and T-shirt; the materials note possible shipping timing limits for shirts. The in-person event includes a family festival with bounce houses, touch a truck, outdoor games, free food, music, and face painting.
Awards in Birmingham include top overall male and female and top two male and female finishers in each age group: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, and 50 and over. All registration fees are nonrefundable; if the event is canceled or changed for safety or weather reasons, fees will be treated as donations and event details may be adjusted.
