LIFE Walk & Run
The LIFE Walk & Run is the signature annual event of the Detroit MOTTEP Foundation, held on August 1, 2026, at Rouge Park, Jefferson Field in Detroit, Michigan. The event brings together organ and tissue transplantation communities, including supporters, donor families, recipients, volunteers, sponsors, and partner organizations such as Gift of Life Michigan.
Originally established in 1997 to promote National Minority Donor Awareness Day, the event has been held annually and has attracted more than 1.3 million participants from domestic and international locations over its history. Organizers report that thousands of lives have been directly impacted through the event and its associated activities. The event also serves as a primary fundraising activity to support outreach into multicultural communities and to increase donor awareness.

- 5k Walk (3.1 miles) registration fee $30
- 5k Run (3.1 miles) registration fee $35
- 10k Run (6.2 miles) registration fee $35
Registration opens April 21, 2026 and closes July 31, 2026. This year’s venue is Rouge Park, with the event previously held at Belle Isle State Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
