LIFE Walk & Run - Detroit MOTTEP Foundation
The LIFE Walk and Run is the annual event organized by the Detroit MOTTEP Foundation to promote organ and tissue donation awareness. The 2026 edition takes place at Rouge Park in Detroit, Michigan on August 1, 2026. The event is presented in partnership with Gift of Life Michigan and other sponsors.
The gathering traces its origins to 1997 and was previously held at Belle Isle State Park. Organizers report that more than 1.3 million participants, domestic and international, have taken part in past editions. The event supports outreach into multicultural communities and fosters awareness, donor-family connections, and community education about transplantation.
Multiple participation options are offered with set registration fees and registration windows in the spring and summer of 2026. The program combines a community fundraiser with activities that bring together donors, recipients, families, volunteers, and partner organizations.
