LIFE Walk & Run - Detroit MOTTEP Foundation
The LIFE Walk & Run is the annual signature event of the Detroit MOTTEP Foundation. This gathering brings together the organ and tissue transplantation community, partners such as Gift of Life Michigan, sponsors, supporters, donor families, recipients, and volunteers to promote organ and tissue donation and National Minority Donor Awareness Day.
The event has been held annually since 1997 and has attracted more than 1.3 million participants domestically and internationally. It serves as a fundraiser for the foundation and supports outreach into multicultural communities to increase awareness about donation and foster compassion.
This year the event takes place at Rouge Park / Jefferson Field in Detroit, Michigan. Multiple event options are offered with different distances and fees. Registration opens April 21, 2026, and closes July 31, 2026. Listed fees for 2026 are $30.00 for the 5k Walk and $35.00 for the 5k Run and 10k Run.
