Event Overview
The MOTTEP LIFE Walk & Run is an annual event that promotes organ and tissue donation while fostering community. The 2026 edition will be the 28th annual event. It takes place at Belle Isle State Park in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Race Features
Registration includes several items and features. All participants receive a race t-shirt. Every runner who finishes receives a finisher medal. Electronic chip timing is used to provide race day finishing photos. Additional placement medals are awarded within age categories for male and female participants.
The event includes several community features beyond the run/walk. These are a LIFE Walk Cafe, a free health fair, a Circle of Life Garden, a Kid's Corner, and Sebastian's Corner. There is also a dedicated section for Donor Family Teams.
T-Shirt Contest
The design for the 2025 event's t-shirt was created by graduating seniors from Harper Woods High School who were enrolled in the College & Career Institute's Graphic Design Program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
