About the race
The Leuven Marathon is a city running event that held its first edition on 19/04/2026, with 17,900 participants following the European Running Championships 2025.
Runners can choose between the following distances:
- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
The route crosses the centre of Leuven with start and finish at the Philipssite. The marathon route includes an additional green loop that goes into the Brabantse Wouden. The event weekend combines on-course elements with DJs, animation and other activities around the races.
In the inaugural edition there were about 3,300 marathon runners and about 5,700 starters on the 10K. Registrations are noted to open on 1/10. A date of 11/04/2027 is listed for the next edition and registrations for that edition are noted to open on 1 October 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
