Event Overview
The Leprechaun Chase is a multi distance running event held in Long Beach, California. Based at Alamitos Beach, the competition features out and back routes along the oceanfront. Participants can choose from several distances including:
- 5K (one lap of the 5k route)
- 10K (two laps of the 5k route)
- 10 Miler (two laps of the 5m route)
- Half Marathon (two laps of the 5m route and one lap of its 5k route)
The race takes place on a paved beach path. This path remains open to the public during the event, with pedestrians required to stay on the right side and cyclists on the left. The course is monitored by crew members and features markings such as chalk, flags, and turn signs for navigation.
Support and Logistics
Aid stations are positioned along the course and at the finish line, provided with water, electrolytes, gels, and fruit snacks. The course has a time limit of 3 hours and 20 minutes for both the Half Marathon and 10 Miler distances. A gear check service is available at the registration tent, though participants must provide their own bags for personal items.
Bib pick-up is available the day prior at a local sporting goods store or on the morning of the event at the race site. Timing is tracked through race bibs, which must be worn on the front of the shirt.

All participants who complete their chosen distance receive a finisher medal. Overall first place medals are awarded to the top male and female finishers in each category. Digital race results and free photos are provided to runners after the conclusion of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
