The Leipzig Winter Marathon is a team race where three runners complete a marathon or half marathon together. The event takes place in Clara-Zetkin Park, where a flat 4.2 km loop is run ten times. All team members run the entire distance together, and only the team's total time counts for the ranking.
There are separate rankings for men's, women's, and mixed teams, as well as a Ü150 ranking for teams whose members have a combined age of at least 150 years.
