Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge
The Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge is an annual charity hike or run held in September across the Charnwood countryside. The route is approximately 16 miles and visits the summits of Beacon Hill, Bardon Hill and Old John in Bradgate Park. The event starts and ends within Beacon Hill Country Park.
Proceeds from the Challenge are used to provide essential items for local people in need, including food, clothing, beds and cookers. Since the event began in 2016, participants have raised over £116,000. Recent editions raised notable sums, for example over £18,000 in 2025 and over £14,000 in 2024.
Registration requires purchase of a place online and completion of a registration and disclaimer form; all participants must complete the form. Participants are asked to read the event Health and Safety Information Sheet before taking part and will receive further event information and updates by email as the event approaches. Entry for the 2026 event closes on Wednesday 16 September.
The Challenge route is presented as a community fundraising activity that brings together supporters to raise funds for people experiencing hardship. The event has attracted a mix of walkers, runners and dogs on previous editions, and finishers receive certificates and event mementos.
