Event Overview

The Leeds 10K is a city centre run founded by Jane Tomlinson, who established the race using funds she raised through endurance challenges while battling terminal cancer. The event is described as one of the highlights of the city’s events calendar and is noted for its popular, inclusive, and well-supported atmosphere. The race route is known for its strong crowd support and friendly volunteers.

Practical Details

The event takes place on Sunday, 14 June 2026. The start line is outside the Parkinson Steps at the University of Leeds. The Event Village is located on Millennium Square, which will host partner charities and offer food and drink for purchase. A baggage drop-off service is available on Millennium Square.

Course and Support

The course features water stations where a 330ml bottle of water is provided. Pacers sponsored by Arla Protein will be present on the course to help runners achieve their target finish times. Toilets are located on Millennium Square and at the start line. A clothing donation system is in place for items discarded at the start. Medical first aid stations are positioned near water stations and at the start/finish area.

Participant Information

Entry is open to individuals aged 15 or over on event day. What's included with entry is chip timing, a finisher’s goody bag, an exclusive medal, and the option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt and an iTAB for medal engraving. Participants may wear bone-conducting headphones, but volume must be kept low to hear marshals and other sounds. The organizers encourage the use of recycling bins provided at water stations.

Travel and Sustainability

Travel options include car (with Woodhouse Lane Car Park noted as the closest), bus (nearest stop at Woodhouse Lane/Blenheim Terrace), train (direct services to Leeds), and air (via Leeds Bradford International Airport). The event promotes sustainability with a "Keep Leeds green" initiative, providing recycling bins and a partnership with JogOn for recycling unwanted trainers via drop-off stations in the Event Village.
