Leaky Hourglass Ultra
Leaky Hourglass Ultra is a Last Man Standing event held in Half Way, Missouri. The format uses repeated out and back laps of 4.167 miles. Cutoff time for the first lap is 60 minutes and is reduced by one minute after each completed lap until only one runner can complete a lap.
The course follows a chip and sealed rural highway with rolling hills. Each lap includes roughly 250 feet of elevation gain. The route is not closed to traffic; runners are expected to run facing traffic and will be required to use a headlamp and a flasher after sunset.
There are two aid stations per lap. The manned aid station at the start/finish offers Tailwind Endurance Fuel, water, chips, pickles, candy bars, and other hot and cold options. The unmanned aid station at the turnaround provides Tailwind Endurance Fuel, water, and prepackaged snacks for grab and go.
The event site allows primitive camping on site for Friday and Saturday nights. The location is about 20 miles north of Springfield, Missouri, where additional lodging options are available. No refunds shall be issued; bib transfers are allowed. Professional race photos will be provided free of charge by Mile 90 Photography.
On-site packet pickup is available on the Friday and Saturday before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
