Leaky Hourglass Ultra
The Leaky Hourglass Ultra is a Last Man Standing running event held in Half Way, Missouri on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Each lap is a 4.167 mile out and back on a chip and sealed rural highway with rolling hills and roughly 250 feet of elevation per lap. The format reduces the allowed cutoff by one minute each lap: the first lap has 60 minutes to complete, the next lap 59 minutes, and so on until only one participant completes a lap.
The course is not closed to traffic. Runners are required to run facing traffic and must carry a headlamp and flasher after sunset. There is one manned aid station at the start and finish offering Tailwind endurance fuel, water, chips, pickles, candy bars, and other hot and cold options, and one unmanned aid station at the turnaround with Tailwind fuel, water, and prepackaged grab and go snacks.
The event site allows primitive camping on Friday and Saturday nights. The location is about 20 miles north of Springfield, Missouri, where additional hotel options are available. On site packet pickup is available on the Friday and Saturday before the event. No refunds shall be issued; bib transfers are allowed until Saturday, August 3, 2024.
