Leaky Hourglass Ultra
The Leaky Hourglass Ultra is a Last Man Standing running event held in Half Way, Missouri. Competitors run repeated out-and-back laps of 4.167 miles; the allowed cutoff for each lap begins at 60 minutes and decreases by one minute after every completed lap until only one runner remains.
The course is a chip and sealed rural highway with rolling hills, with roughly 250 feet of elevation gain per lap. The route is not closed to traffic; runners are required to run facing traffic and must carry a headlamp and a flasher after sunset.
Aid support includes a manned start/finish station supplying Tailwind Endurance Fuel, water, a variety of hot and cold options, and packaged snacks; an unmanned turnaround station provides Tailwind Endurance Fuel, water, and grab-and-go prepackaged snacks.
The event takes place near 2055 Hwy Z in Half Way and is about 20 miles north of Springfield, Missouri. Primitive camping is allowed on site for Friday and Saturday nights. On-site packet pickup is available on the day before and the morning of the event.
Registration closes on August 22 at 11:59 PM CT. No refunds are issued; bib transfers are permitted until Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 23:59. Professional race photos will be provided free of charge by Mile 90 Photography. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
