Leah's Legacy

Leah's Legacy is an annual charity run in Charleston that honors Leah Strickland and raises funds for local student scholarships. The event includes a timed 5K, a community walk, and a kids fun run.

Entering its 4th annual event on September 13, 2026 at City Center at Slack Plaza, the event has engaged nearly 2,000 participants over previous years and has raised more than $100,000. To date the fund has provided $12,500 in scholarships for five local students, and the 2026 event expects more than 800 participants for an evening focused on community, remembrance, and celebration.

A team of family members, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners organizes the run. Activities coordinated for the event include professional 5K timing, kids activities, entertainment, vendors, and local partnerships.
