Leah's Legacy
Leah's Legacy is the fourth annual memorial running and walking event held in Charleston, West Virginia, at Charleston City Center (Slack Plaza) on September 13, 2026. The course begins and ends at Slack Plaza and proceeds toward the boulevard. The event also includes a kids fun run that follows Slack Plaza and Brawley Walkway and is intended for children 10 and under.
Available options include:
- 5K in person (timed) and 5K virtual
- 2 Miles in person (not timed) and 2 Miles virtual
- Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under; a lower fee option without a T-shirt is offered
Registration fees listed by the organizer are $30 for the in person 5K, $25 for the in person 2 Mile walk, $20 for the virtual 5K and virtual 2 Mile, $20 for the kids fun run with T-shirt, and $10 for the kids fun run without T-shirt. Registration opening and closing dates vary by entry type.
The event supports a memorial scholarship fund that awards senior athletes who demonstrate team focus and sportsmanship. Awards for the timed 5K include top three overall male and female, top masters male and female (age 40 and over), age group winners by specified ranges, and the top three fastest adult coed teams with a minimum of five members.
