Lead the Way Race Day 2026 : overview
Lead the Way Race Day 2026 takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Corydon, Indiana (341 S Capitol Ave). The event is presented by Leadership Harrison County and lists the lead sponsor as TBD. Event types include elite mile races with prize money, community and youth races, and a community 5k. Awards include top three female and male overall finishers and age group recognition. The top three finishers in each men's and women's elite mile receive $100, $50, and $25.
Course, entries, and other details
Mile races and youth races will be held on the crushed limestone horse track at the Fairgrounds. The Community 5k is a loop from the Fairgrounds that uses the Indian Creek Trail and historic downtown Corydon; the route includes one large hill, some gravel, a creekside trail, and road running past the first state capitol back to the finish. The course is new this year, so course records are not yet established. Fees vary by race; a t-shirt is optional if registered by April 12. Children 10 and under may run the 5k at no charge when accompanied by a responsible, paying participant. Online registration closes May 1; race day registration is available for an additional $5 per race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
