Event overview

Lead the Way Race Day 2026 takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Corydon, Indiana, at the Fairgrounds (341 S Capitol Ave). The event is presented by Leadership Harrison County and lists the lead sponsor as TBD. Course, awards, and format

The Community 5k is a loop course from the Fairgrounds that follows Indian Creek Trail, passes historic downtown Corydon and the first state capitol, and returns to the finish. The 5k includes one large hill, some gravel, and a creekside trail. Mile and youth races will take place on the crushed limestone horse track at the Fairgrounds. Top three female and male finishers receive awards, with age-group recognition. The top three in each elite mile receive prize money of $100, $50, and $25.

Registration and notes

Entry fees vary by race and there are discounts for registering for multiple events. A race T-shirt is optional for registrations completed by April 12. Children 10 and under may enter the 5k free when accompanied by a responsible, paying participant. Online registration closes the night before the event; race day registration is available for an additional $5 per race. The course is new this year and will have initial course records.
