About the race
The LDWA Autumn Forest Marathon is a fall road and forest event organised by the Heart of England LDWA group on Saturday 26 September 2026. Routes start and finish at the Memorial Hall, Station Road, Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire. The event returns to the Heart of England Forest with a mix of newly planted, growing, established and mature woodland and has a new headquarters, new routes and new checkpoints.
Distances on offer:
- 27 miles marathon route, three checkpoints
- 20 miles short route, two checkpoints
The event uses rolling starts, with walkers set off earlier than runners. Checkpoints on the routes provide snacks and hot and cold drinks. A hot meal is served at the finish. There is no specific event parking; several public car parks are within a 10 minute walk of the headquarters and public transport options exist. Entries opened on 4 April 2026 and close on 21 September 2026. Entry fees are quoted as £20 for LDWA members and £25 for non-members; 142 participants were listed at the time of publication. Under 18s must be accompanied at all times by a guardian over 18 and must have written parental approval. Dogs are not permitted on the route.
