About the race
The LDWA Autumn Forest Marathon on 26 September 2026 is organised by LDWA Heart of England and is based at the Memorial Hall, Station Road, Henley in Arden, Warwickshire. The event returns to forest terrain and is routed through a mix of new planted, growing, established and mature woodland to show early autumn in the Heart of England.
There are two routes:
- Marathon: 27 miles
- Short Course: 20 miles
All routes start and finish at the Memorial Hall. Starts are staggered so walkers begin before runners. The 27 mile route features three checkpoints and the 20 mile route has two checkpoints; these serve snacks and hot and cold drinks. A hot meal is provided at the finish.
Entries open 4 April 2026 and close 21 September 2026. Entry fees are listed as LDWA member £20.00 and non member £25.00. Entries so far are recorded at 174 participants. There is no dedicated event parking; several public car parks are within a short walk of the hall and public transport options are available. Under 18s must be accompanied by a guardian over 18 at all times and must have written parental approval. Dogs are not permitted on the route.
