Layers of Pain Backyard Ultramarathon

The event takes place June 20 and 21, 2026 at Onion Lakes Ski Trails in Terrace, British Columbia. The backyard ultramarathon format requires running a designated 6.7 km loop every hour, on the hour, for as many laps as each participant chooses. Each loop begins with a mass start.

All participants receive a t shirt or similar item; the winner receives a trophy. Basic snacks, water, electrolyte drinks, door prizes and a photo booth will be available on race day. Participants are advised to bring a chair, cooler or tent for downtime between loops.

Registration is listed at 65 CAD per registrant. Payment is accepted online and a small processing fee applies. A participant package is noted as available.

Any excess funds collected will be donated to the Snow Valley Nordic Ski Club, which maintains the Onion Lake trail network. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
